1/ Cut off both ends of the onion and peel it.

2/ Cut the onion in two lengthways.

3/ Place one half of the onion on your chopping board and make vertical cuts, taking care not to cut right through to the end.

4/ Now make horizontal cuts through the onion.

5/ Now finely slice the onion. Thanks to the cuts you have already made, it is now very finely chopped!
